One Acre Fund

2018 Grant Recipient

A Better World Fund gives grants annually to deserving charities working throughout the world in the areas of Peace, Hunger, Health, Human Rights, Ecology, Education, and Economic Development.

Our first grant was awarded in 1984 and was a nominal $25 per grantee. The endowment fund - which started with our founder's small initial contribution - has grown leaps and bounds over the years.

As a result, we have provided more than $500,000 in grants to a 100+ grantees since inception. We continue to aspire to grow the fund and enable even more organizations to achieve their charitable goals.

We are a nonpolitical, nonsectarian, publicly supported endowment. Contributions to the endowment remain on permanent deposit. Interest income is distributed each year to worthwhile charities that are reviewed and evaluated for the quality of their programs, finances, management, fundraising, and governance. We have been an all-volunteer organization since our founding, with minimal annual expenses funded primarily by board member contributions.

A Better World Fund is a 501(c)(3) charity, and contributions are tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law.

Grant applications are not accepted and are given only on an unsolicited basis.
